Materials for the Cowboy and Cowgirl Craft:

- paper or cardstock
- colored papers

Procedure for making your very own Cowboy and Cowgirl Craft:
Step 1 Download the Print & Go Cowboy and Cowgirl Craft Pack. Choose from the black-and-white and colored templates included in the download, and print them on cardstock. Then, use colored paper and pencil to trace the cowboy and cowgirl’s heads. You can use cream or brown colored paper to achieve a light or dark skin color depending on your preference. Cut out the outline of the head that you traced.
Step 2 Next, cut out the hair from the head template. Trace it on a colored paper of your choice for your cowboy’s hair. We used black and brown, but you can encourage your child to try other colors like red, orange, or yellow! Once you have traced it, cut it out using a pair of scissors.
Step 3 If you've printed the black and white version of the free cowboy and cowgirl craft pack, you can color them using markers, crayons, or colored pencils. This is a great opportunity to customize your cowboy or cowgirl by adding your favorite colors!
Step 4 Cut out all the other parts of the cowboy and cowgirl craft template, such as the hat, clothes, shoes, and hands.

Step 5 Now, let’s use glue to assemble the cowboy and cowgirl’s head and hair pieces first. Then, attach the hat to the head, and add the hat belt.

Step 6 Add details by attaching the star on the hat. Use markers or colored pencils to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of your cowboy and cowgirl craft. You can also let your preschooler add other details like freckles, eyebrows, or a mustache. Let them be creative to give their cowboy or cowgirl a unique look!

Step 7 Next, assemble the clothes. Attach the belt to the shirt first, then add the vest on each side. Glue the bandana below the shirt’s collar, just right on top of the vest. Then, attach the cowboy or cowgirl’s head to the clothes you have just assembled.

Step 8 The cowboy and cowgirl craft is almost complete! Just attach the pants (for the cowboy) and the skirt (for the cowgirl). Next, glue the shoes below the pants and skirt. Add the hands at each end of the shirt’s sleeves. And don’t forget to add the cute ponytail for the cowgirl!
