Steps in creating your very own Paper Bag Pirate Puppet
Step 1 Download and print a copy of My Pre-K Box’s Paper Bag Pirate Puppet Craft on cardstock. Choose between the colored version (which is more convenient to use), or the black and white version so you can have more fun choosing your own colors! You can use them as templates to trace onto colored paper or your child can color them in!
Step 2 Cut out the red, brown, and gray rectangles from the template. Paste the large red rectangle vertically on the outer body of the paper bag, as it will serve as the clothes of the pirate! Then glue the gray rectangle at the bottom of the red one - this will be the pirate’s pants! The brown strip should be pasted in between the gray and red rectangles and will become the belt of the naughty pirate! You can also use colored paper to change the colors of their clothes or make other designs!
Step 3 Next, cut out the cloud-shaped object called the jabot (it is the fluffy piece of cloth on the neck of the pirate). Paste it in the upper part of the red rectangle, opposite the gray one.
Step 4 Complete the pirate’s belt by pasting the buckle in the middle of the brown strip! The belt buckle is the brown and gray square on the first page of the template.
Step 5 Assemble the pirate’s eyes, eyepatch, beard, mustache, bandana, and hat. Glue the beard first, just above the jabot. Then, add the long mustache in the middle and the red bandana on top. Glue the eyes and add the eyepatch too! Lastly, add the black pirate hat on top of the bandana.
Step 6 Complete the brave little pirate look by adding the sword on one side and the white jolly roger symbol on the black hat.
Aaaarrrggghhh! The mighty pirate is now complete! You can now go on fun pirate adventures with your friends!
