Materials for the ABC Pumpkin Smash:

- mixing bowl
- flour
- water
- 26 large cotton balls or more
- orange food coloring or orange liquid watercolor paint
- foil
- spoon
- green pipe cleaners
- scissors
- black marker
- toy hammer
- oven

Procedure for the ABC Pumpkin Smash:
Step 1 In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, water, and orange food coloring. You can also use orange liquid watercolor paint. Mix it well until the mixture is even.
Step 2 Cover the baking tray with foil. Then, dip the large cotton ball in the orange mixture. Use a spoon to twist and turn it until the whole cotton ball is entirely covered. Place it in the baking tray.
Step 3 Cut the green pipe cleaners into smaller pieces, then stick them in the orange-colored cotton balls. Repeat the previous step and this one until all 26 cotton balls are done!
Step 4 Place the tray with cotton balls inside the preheated oven. Bake it for an hour at 300 degrees. Let it cool, then write a letter on each pumpkin!
Step 5 Using the Pumpkin Alphabet Flash Cards, choose a random letter. Ask your little one to find the pumpkin with the same letter.

Step 6 Now it’s time for some smashing! Once your preschooler found the pumpkin with the same letter as the flash card you picked, ask him to smash it using the toy hammer! Smash, smash, smash!
