Materials
- bag of skittles
- water
- white or clear plate
- optional: cookie cutters

Directions
Step 1 Inside of the bowl, arrange the skittles in any sort of pattern your preschooler wants to use.
Step 2 Pour a small amount of water along the edge of the skittles and watch what happens.
Step 3 Depending on your preschooler’s age, you can spend some time predicting what will happen and how long it will take for the colors to start to stream into the middle of the bowl.
Step 4 Try the experiment with different shapes and combinations of colors. You can also try it with a cookie cutter placed in the center of the bowl and see what happens when the colored water hits the cookie cutter edge.
