1 Leprechaun Dust Sensory Play
Using a couple of simple ingredients (table salt and green food coloring) you can make a container of Leprechaun Sensory Dust for your child to enjoy. This easy St Patrick Day activity is quick and simple to make! All you need to do is, take the table salt and pour it into a container, add green food coloring, mix, and set out to dry. Your preschooler will have their very own leprechaun dust to enjoy in just a few hours!
Sensory play has an important role in your child’s development. From the very first day they are born, children are designed to explore the world via their senses. Sensory exploration is your child’s way of examining, discovering, categorizing, and making sense of the world. Providing your child with sensory play is beneficial to their overall development!
2 Leprechaun Dust Writing Tray
Using that leprechaun dust you created before, you can set up another easy St Patrick Day activity for your child! This writing tray is a fantastic way to help your child work on handwriting, letter formation, and pre-writing skills. There is a reason that writing trays are a popular way to encourage your child’s fine motor skills. Using a tactile sensory strategy to encourage movement allows your child to learn in a multi-sensory way. A writing tray allows your child to develop important skills in a fun and meaningful play-based learning experience.
3 Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt
Another easy St. Patrick Day activity is a fun leprechaun-themed scavenger hunt. Preschoolers everywhere enjoy scavenger hunts, and parents everywhere love them for their simplicity and learning opportunities. Teaching your children through games and fun is one of the best ways that your children can learn some much-needed life skills. Scavenger hunts are an excellent way to build your child’s problem-solving and motor skills. Not only that, but scavenger hunts can also be an opportunity to increase language development, reading, and math skills. To set up your scavenger hunt all you need is some green construction paper, a marker (to write the clues), and a fun treasure for your kids to find! (Think leprechaun gold or a fun leprechaun-themed snack!) If you would like an easier alternative to creating your own - you are in luck! Our March Box contains everything you need to create a fun leprechaun scavenger hunt with little to no prep!

You can use various craft and household materials to construct a leprechaun trap for an easy St Patrick Day activity this year. Building a leprechaun trap will push your preschooler’s creativity and engineering skills to the max and they will have endless fun designing and testing out the traps they build.
